The training provided an overview of the global landscape of AI-enabled and AI-enhanced crime in 2025, explaining how criminal groups had abused generative AI, deepfakes, automation and large-scale data harvesting. Participants reviewed cases of financial fraud, identity theft, phishing, ransomware and advanced forms of social engineering.

The session also addressed the misuse of AI to support human trafficking networks, online sexual exploitation, and other forms of cyber-enabled abuse, focusing strictly on analytical and institutional aspects relevant to law-enforcement and security professionals.

In addition, Milos Andrić presented how law-enforcement institutions had begun integrating AI into intelligence work, investigations and digital forensics, while highlighting regulatory, ethical and human-rights challenges such as transparency, bias and accountability.

The session concluded with practical recommendations for strengthening IPO sections through capacity building, international partnerships and improved operational readiness.

IPO continued to strengthen its global expertise at the intersection of artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and organized crime, enhancing collaboration between sections and promoting the exchange of knowledge and best practices across all regions where the organization operates.
