Representatives of the International Police Organization IPO Montenegro held an educational lecture on the topic “Prevention of Peer and Cyberbullying” for students and teachers of the Secondary Mixed School in Golubovci, aiming to promote a safer school and digital environment.

The event was organized in partnership with the Cultural and Information Center “Zeta”, within the framework of the “Cooperation Week” program, an initiative designed to strengthen knowledge, responsibility, and collaboration between educational institutions, organizations, and the local community.
IPO Montenegro Executive Director Momčilo Šćekić, Secretary General Boris Janković, and Director of the Security Department Prof. Dr. Vesna Ratković spoke about the frequency and consequences of peer violence, as well as the specific challenges posed by the modern digital world.
An increasing number of young people today face various online risks from harassment and misuse of personal data to manipulation and blackmail through social networks and digital platforms. Therefore, timely and coordinated responses are crucial in both school and virtual environments. The speakers emphasized that students, teachers, parents, and the broader community all share responsibility for recognizing and reporting any form of violence to the appropriate authorities.
During the lecture, students received practical advice for safe internet use, learned about the importance of critical thinking, and were encouraged to report any case of violence without fear of stigma or negative consequences.
The session was highly interactive, giving students the opportunity to ask questions, share personal experiences, and participate in open discussions focused on recognizing and avoiding dangerous situations. The importance of building an atmosphere of mutual respect, support, and non-violent communication was strongly emphasized as a foundation for healthy relationships among young people.
Such initiatives reflect the International Police Organization’s continued commitment to promoting a culture of safety and empowering youth to protect themselves and others, both online and offline.
