IPO NORTH MACEDONIA AND MAVROVO NATIONAL PARK ESTABLISH STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP

The International Police Organization – IPO North Macedonia and the Public Enterprise Mavrovo National Park have formalized their collaboration through the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation, establishing a long-term framework for joint action in the fields of environmental protection, public safety, and civic awareness.


The memorandum was officially signed by the President of IPO North Macedonia, Mr. Sejfulla Bekteshi, and the Director of Mavrovo National Park, Mr. Haris Ibraimi, during a ceremony held in Mavrovo.


The signing ceremony was attended by representatives of both institutions, including Mr. Goce Todev Delchev, Secretary General of IPO North Macedonia, Mr. Enis Ibrahimi, Secretary of the IPO office in Gostivar, and Mr. Ismail Bekteshi, active member of the organization.


Objectives of the Cooperation

The agreement outlines a shared commitment to:

• Protecting and enhancing the natural environment and biodiversity

• Preventing fires and illegal activities within the park

• Promoting sustainable and safe tourism practices

• Actively engaging young people and volunteers in field activities

• Raising ecological awareness among the local population


Planned Initiatives

Within the framework of this cooperation, the two institutions will jointly implement a series of initiatives, including:

• Eco Patrol Mavrovo – monitoring and preventive activities in the park

• Tree Days – afforestation and environmental restoration efforts

• Safe Season – ensuring visitor safety during peak tourist periods

• Youth-focused ecological education programs aimed at fostering environmental stewardship among future generations

This partnership marks a significant step forward in the ongoing efforts to safeguard North Macedonia’s natural heritage while fostering a culture of responsibility, sustainability, and safety among citizens and visitors alike.
