IPO Section Switzerland Participates in Annual Meeting of the Director-General of UNOG with Civil Societ

Geneva, — The delegation of IPO Section Switzerland participated in the Annual Meeting of the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva (UNOG) with Civil Society, a key institutional gathering that brought together representatives of accredited organizations to exchange views on the strategic priorities of the United Nations for 2026 and on the active role of civil society within the UN system.
The delegation was led by Mr. Imet Cafleshi, President of IPO Section Switzerland and Permanent Representative of IPO to the United Nations in Geneva, who represented the organization in the strategic discussions and consultations held with UNOG officials and international civil society representatives.
The meeting addressed the main orientations of the United Nations for 2026, current geopolitical challenges, the strengthening of multilateralism, and the importance of structured and effective cooperation between UN institutions and civil society organizations. Participants emphasized the need for enhanced engagement from partner organizations in order to contribute constructively to the objectives of peace, international security, sustainable development, and the promotion of the rule of law.
The participation of IPO Section Switzerland in this annual meeting represents an important step in strengthening institutional dialogue with the United Nations and reaffirms the organization’s commitment to actively supporting initiatives that promote international cooperation, global stability, and sustainable peace.
