IPO SERBIA ATTENDS CONFERENCE ON EUROPEAN INTEGRATION AND SECURITY

Members of the International Police Organization IPO Section Serbia took part in the International Scientific and Professional Conference on the Importance of European Integration for Security, Education, Innovation, and Ecology, held on October 31, 2025, at the Faculty of Engineering Management in Belgrade.

The conference was opened by Prof. Dr. Vladimir Tomašević, Dean of the Faculty, who welcomed all participants and guests. Opening remarks were also delivered by Mrs. Plamena Halačeva, Deputy Head of the EU Delegation to Serbia, Minister Mr. Nemanja Starović, and Mrs. Sandra Božić, Vice President of the Government of AP Vojvodina.

Following the opening session, several thematic panels were held, addressing key aspects of European integration through the lenses of education, innovation, security, and ecology. The event gathered representatives from government institutions, academia, and the business sector, promoting interdisciplinary dialogue and cooperation.

Among the distinguished speakers were Prof. Dr. Rastislav Stojsavljević, Dr. Aleksandra Tomić, Dr. Miloš Petrašinović, as well as professors from the Faculty of Engineering Management — Dr. Ilija Životić, Dr. Katarina Štrbac, and Dr. Sunčica Vještica — who presented their research.

Environmental experts, including Dalibor Arbutina, Aleksandra Imširagić Đurić, and Prof. Dr. Jasmina Madžgaj, contributed with discussions on sustainable development, while Dr. Nikola Smaltik from Heidelberg University shared valuable international perspectives on European integration processes.

The conference was organized in collaboration with the Ministry of European Integration of the Government of the Republic of Serbia and underscored the significance of cooperation between science, industry, and public institutions in fostering a more secure and innovative European future.
