IPO SWITZERLAND ENGAGES IN HIGH-LEVEL DEBATE ON HUMAN-CENTERED SECURITY IN GENEVA

The International Police Organization IPO – Switzerland took part in the high-level debate “Human-Centered Security for a Complex World – A Geneva Security Debate”, organized by the Geneva Centre for Security Policy (GCSP) in collaboration with the United Nations Trust Fund for Human Security (UNTFHS).

This prestigious event brought together representatives from international institutions, diplomats, security experts, and academics from around the world to explore innovative approaches for strengthening human security in an increasingly complex and interconnected global environment.
The panel featured several distinguished speakers, including:

• Ambassador María Fernanda Espinosa, Former President of the United Nations General Assembly
• Mr. Markus Derblom, Director, Department for Conflict Prevention and Peacebuilding, Folke Bernadotte Academy

• Mr. Piotr Wolynski, Human Security Staff Officer, Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (NATO)

• Ms. Anna Brach, Head of Human Security and Planetary Resilience, GCSP
The IPO Switzerland delegation actively participated in this important debate, represented by the President of IPO Switzerland and the Permanent Representative of IPO to the United Nations in Geneva.
As part of its regular engagement with the GCSP, IPO Switzerland continues to uphold its commitment to international dialogue, institutional capacity building, and multilateral cooperation in the field of human security.
