IPO DELEGATION IN GENEVA AT THE UN COMMITTEE ON THE ELIMINATION OF RACIAL

International Convention on the Elimination of all Forms of Racial Discrimination Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination – 112th session 8-26 April 2024

Palais Wilson – 17 April 2024, IPO Delegation at United Nations Geneva represented by Mr. Imet Cafleshi President of IPO Section Switzerland, and Mr. Arnaud Alberto Representative of IPO Section Italy participated at the UN Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination (CERD) will hold its upcoming session from 8 to 26 April, during which it will review Mexico, San Marino, Albania, Qatar and the Republic of Moldova.

The five countries are among the 182 States parties to the International Convention

on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination.

They are required to undergo regular reviews by the Committee of 18 independent international experts on how they are implementing the Convention.

On April 16 and 17, it was the Albanian delegation headed by the Albanian

ambassador to the United Nations and delegates from various ministers who

presented the report on racial discrimination. Also the commission and other

attendees presented various questions where the ambassador and the delegates

from Albania had the opportunity to answer various questions.

The IPO Delegation had the opportunity to exchange some conversations with the

Ambassador and the Delegation of Albania, where we also received thanks from the

Albanian delegation for our presence and the contribution offered by the IPO.
