IPO WITH IANS AND OSCE TRAINING FOR SCHOOL OFFICERS IN ALBANIA

Within the framework of the agreements and relations that IPO has built with Albanian institutions, IPO has joined the program of the Institute for Activism and Social Change IANS for the training of School Security Officers which started on November 1, 2023, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Sports, the Coordination Center CVE and the Tirana Local Police Directorate supported by the U.S. Embassy-Tirana and the OSCE Presence in Albania.
On November 8, 2023, at Mondial Hotel Tirana, took place the next training season where the IPO Founder, Professor Ilija Zivotic Ph.D. held a lecture on the topic of preventing violent extremism and radicalization leading to terrorism.
The lecture was basically intended for School Security Officers.
In the framework of the training program, there were present senior officials of the State Police and the Local Police Directorate of Tirana, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Education and Sports, the Center for the Prevention of Juvenile and Youth Crime QPKMR and the OSCE Presence in Albania which is the co-organizer and supporter of the multi-day training. The lecture itself consisted of several segments where Prof. Zivotic very professionally pointed out, first of all, the ways of radicalization of young people, but also showed 20 early warning signs that have been registered among young people in the Western Balkans in the past years.
Prof. Zivotic also showed some of the graphic signs that are currently used in extreme organizations, tattoos and other signs that members of extreme groups use in daily communication with each other. In the last part of the presentation, Prof. Zivotic presented a proposal for the way of communication between the members of school security and the police, as well as the basis of their interdependence and appealed for better cooperation.
At the end of the lecture, Prof. Zivotic answered many questions from the audience and explained in more detail some segments of his lecture.
A large number of questions and comments at the end of the seminar is a confirmation of the correctness of the decision that the IPO will be together with the organizers of this very useful multi-day training, as well as to continue with similar projects in the territory of Albania in the future together with partners.
