The International Police Organization – Section Montenegro, in cooperation with the NATO Charity Bazaar, is successfully implementing the international project “Strong Women – Safe Women”, dedicated to empowering women through practical self-defense training and personal safety education.

This initiative is a direct response to the ongoing need to prevent violence against women and to promote gender equality through education, awareness, and empowerment.
The core objective of the project is to enhance the safety and self-confidence of women by equipping them with practical self-defense skills. Through a series of expert-led training sessions and educational workshops, participants learn how to recognize dangerous situations, respond effectively, and protect themselves using simple but powerful techniques.
More than just physical training, the program emphasizes:
• Recognition of risk and danger;
• Mental preparedness and decision-making under stress;
• Physical techniques in martial arts disciplines such as jiu-jitsu, boxing, karate, and judo;
• The development of psychological strength and self-trust.
This holistic approach fosters a sense of control, confidence, and independence—qualities that are essential in today’s world.

The most recent self-defense session was held at the Jiu-Jitsu Club “Mornar” in Bar and led by Brazilian jiu-jitsu master Oksana Tachuk, together with accomplished instructors. The training was further supported by IPO’s professional team with expertise in karate, boxing, judo, and jiu-jitsu.
With the backing of international partners and the local community, “Strong Women – Safe Women” is making tangible contributions to a safer society. By raising awareness of the importance of personal safety and offering a space where women can grow stronger together, the project builds a culture of solidarity, resilience, and mutual support.
The message of the project is clear: self-defense is not just a physical skill—it is a tool for self-development, protection, and dignity. In a society where violence against women still exists in various forms, it is essential that more women have access to training that helps them feel safe, capable, and empowered.
“A strong woman is a safe woman.”
The project continues, and doors remain open to all women who wish to work on themselves, learn new skills, and contribute to building a safer and stronger community.
Together, we are building a safer and better future.
